KE6YY

Jerry Fuller

Jerry was first licensed as a Novice in January of 1974 with the callsign WN6DBT. About 6 months later, in January of 1975, he passed the exam for General and Advanced at the same sitting and was assigned the callsign WB6DBT. Within a year, he started running traffic for the 20-meter maritime nets and the tuna-fishing boats. He has continued working with the maritime nets until the present time.

Jerry, and his wife, Ilah (WA6EDG), worked with RACES, ARES and the Forestry Service acting as fire patrol in East San Diego County for 4 to 5 years. Jerry assumed net control for the Baja net once each week in July of 1980 and has continued as a periodic net control and relay to date.

Ham radio is still his primary hobby and he enjoys playing around with antennas and doing little craft projects in his shop/garage. He also enjoys fishing and boating with his son and grandson. The callsign changed to KE6YY about 10 years ago.
